A DAU is a "Data
Analysis Unit" used by the Colorado Division of Wildlife
Biologists to manage game in a large area. Many hunting
licenses, especially cow licenses, are valid in multiple
units. Typically a herd will move through more than one
unit. The DOW groups these units together in a DAU.
Harvest targets and license targets are set using the
entire DAU, not just an individual unit. We've created JMU
map sets to mirror the DAU model, in an effort to delivery a
package of units where you are most likely to hunt. The DAU
map collections contain the same maps available in regular
JMU's - at a special price.
For example, the DAU set
for Game Management Units 1, 201, and 2 will actually
contain 12 different maps. A BLM, Topographical, Satellite,
and elk concentration map for each unit. Incredible maps at
an incredible price.
